12 weeks is standard, but I would tell someone very close to me right away. I would want my close someone there to help me through if something were to happen, just like they are there for everything else. Mind you this person has to have a proven track record of keeping secrets and could emotionally handle whatever you throw at them. And Family, I know what you are thinking and no we are not. I’ll have plenty of wine on our next visit just to prove to you, but only for that reason and absolutely no other. -Jill |

I’m with Jill on this one. I’d want my close someone there with me too… for the whole ride. Although, I agree with Jack on the mistress… as long as you can keep it under wraps!
I totally agree too. I would definately want my significant other to know as soon as possible. I might inform them in a fun way, but I would for sure tell them. If it was a mistress, I would kick Jack’s butt! Then don’t be married.

As for the pregnancy reveal? Our first one we let everyone know right away by going from one relatives house to the next, leaving can’s of ‘Squirt’ on their doorstep with a note that ‘We’re having a little Squirt’….ringing the bell and leaving. We were really excited and about 4 weeks along.
Two weeks later went to the emergency rm with a tubal prenancy. Devestating. I’d say the 10 week mark is pretty safe. 12 is better.
And, wow, that story about your dog and the snake? Poor little guy!

I know Jill had lots of wine with family over holidays!! But then so did Jack!!
hehehe, wait as long as possible. I made the mistake in my first pregnancy telling everyone early, it was a long 9 months of “do you feel ok? do you have cravings? do you feel movement?”

Let’s see – for us it was me: family right away, everyone else 14 weeks. My husband? When the baby GOT HERE. And I’m not even kidding about that. He drove me crazy.
